Commerce Releases Free Online Business Trainings

ScaleUp: The Rebuild Edition helps small businesses in rebuilding or restarting by strengthening their bottom line, improving strategic decision making and creating new operational efficiencies. These online classes will be available in the morning or evening once a week for eight weeks. Originally a $1,599 course, these classes will be free to 100 small business owners who have been in operation for at least two years and have annual pre-COVID gross revenues of more than $100,000.

This program owes its success to the Thurstan Center for Business Innovation’s ScaleUp program, from which it is based. The director of the Washington State Department of Commerce had this to say about the program, “Small businesses are the backbone of Washington’s economy and a key to our state’s recovery and growth going forward. ScaleUp: The Rebuild Edition is designed to help these businesses find new ways forward as we emerge from a global pandemic, whether that means leveraging historic successes, pivoting to new opportunities or becoming more resilient.”

The times and dates for the available courses are as follows:

Session #3 Wednesdays: Apr. 28 – June 23, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.

Session #4 Thursdays: Apr. 29 – June 24, 8:30 to 10:30 a.m.
